Supported Living Services

Supported Living was created in June 2003 after we saw the need and desire of many participants to live independently.  We serve a broad range of participants, who transition from their parents' homes, group homes, or other facilities.  Supported Living utilizes an independent living model, which provides support for individuals age 18 and older.  Our Supported Living team meets with participants regularly to identify their goals and customize a plan for achieving them.

Our Supported Living Program:

  • Provides support in identifying affordable housing options
  • Teaches participants the skills they need to live independently and assists them in applying these skills to home life
  • Models self-reliance and appropriate social behavior
  • Teaches participants to use public transportation in order to access their community
  • Assists in connecting participants to appropriate community resources, such as medical and mental health services
  • Encourages building a network of peers through recreational activities and social development
  • Provides skills instructors who work 1:1 with participants
  • Is funded by the Department of Developmental Services via the Golden Gate Regional Center system.
