Gemmie Jones, Interim Executive Director 

Joining us as Interim Executive Director through 2012, Gemmie is a principle-centered leader with twelve years of nonprofit chief executive service.  Gemmie brings a track record for improving systems and creating new approaches with a collaborative leadership style that builds governance and staffing capacity, while establishing a clear sense of direction and purpose.

Gemmie has led some of the Bay Area's leading nonprofits, including The Volunteer Center of San Francisco, Central City Hospitality House, and Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center.  Her experience managing transitions has honed solid administrative and communication skills, and ensured that the organization will thrive.  She has also worked extensively as a leadership coach and consultant to build healthy organizations.  Trained as a lawyer, her analytical and mediation skills contribute to her success in resolving complex issues and challenges.

Gemmie is deeply committed to an approach that supports individuals in a way that is relevant to their unique needs.  Love, patience, and the belief that we are each special and worthy play a central role for her, and form the basis for her approach in meeting others where they are, envisioning the path before them, encouraging their strengths and self-confidence, and celebrating their accomplishments as they move toward their goals.

Andrea Amsden, Director of Human Resources 

Andrea is an accomplished HR Executive, SPHR/SHRM certified, with extensive qualifications in all core generalist functions. Prior to joining OFI, Andrea was Administrative Director for Alameda Hospital, where she led strategic change management for two primary business departments. She also spent four years as HR Manager at Alameda Hospital, for which her primary responsibility was managing the activity of the Human Resources administrations for approximately 580 employees in a multi-union environment. Previous to this, Andrea held various positions in Human Resources, managing corporate programs, driving process change, and leading senior management collaborative efforts to create and manage administrative operational policies, procedures, and systems. Originally from Southern California, Andrea now resides in Richmond.

Donna Little, Chief Financial Officer 

Donna has worked for OFI since 1997. She received her B.S. in Accounting from San Francisco State University. Donna is responsible for all accounting, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Joanna M. Langenhan, Development Director

Joanna has been with OFI since 2006. She began as a skills instructor in the Lincoln Avenue Apartment Program and spent three years as its Coordinator before transitioning into Development. Joanna received a B.A. in English and Writing and minors in Film Studies, Shakespeare Studies, and Theatre Arts from Southern Oregon University.

Jennifer Zuckerman, Director of Client Services  

Jennifer joined OFI in December 2011 as Director of Client Services.  She came to OFI from Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC), where she was a case manager for people with developmental disabilities for nearly seven years.  Jennifer received a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies from University of Arizona.  She came to the Bay Area to get her M.A. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from University of San Francisco.  Jennifer is a mother of two, who is devoted to her family and career.  She hopes to lead OFI, bringing her experiences as a front line staff, a clinician, and an advocate.

Anne-Marie Cowsill, Supported Living 

Anne-Marie began working at OFI in the fall of 2004 and, after several years of coordinating services for Supported Living, is now overseeing both Supported Living Services and LAAP. She was born in Berkeley and grew up in Canada, where she gained over ten years of experience serving at-risk youth dealing with a variety of issues, including violence, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities. An avid traveler, she has volunteered overseas with several foreign aid groups. Anne-Marie graduated with honors from San Francisco State University, receiving a B.A. in Film Production. She and her husband live in Marin.

Antoinette Henderson, Day Programs   

Antoinette has been with OFI since 1997, when she was hired as a skills trainer in the NOVA program. Tonie, as she prefers to be called, became the senior skills trainer in 2001, and shortly thereafter, was promoted to NOVA Coordinator. After running NOVA for nine years, Tonie is now managing all of our day programs, overseeing NOVA, STEP, and the 1:1 Day Programs.

Ambur Gianni, Supported Living Services

Ambur began working at OFI in 2009 as a Supported Living skills instructor.  She began coordinating the SLS program in February 2011.  Prior to joining OFI, Ambur volunteered at schools for children with developmental disabilities and was a nanny for one of the students. She also worked as a massage therapist and health educator for many years.  Having grown up in a military family, Ambur has lived all over the world and loves to travel.  Hiking, kayaking, running, and geocaching are only a few of the activities she enjoys.

Jeffrey Martini, NOVA 

Jeffrey began working as a NOVA skills trainer in 2003. He became the senior skills instructor in 2008 and now brings his heart, soul, and humorous spirit to the work of coordinating the NOVA program. Jeffrey loves going the "extra mile" for OFI and can frequently be seen around the office attending to many tasks at once. Jeffrey came to OFI after working in retail for many years and says it's the best thing he ever did. A San Francisco native, Jeffrey now lives in Hercules with his two dogs, Spyke and Dolce.

Karishia Washington, STEP 

Karishia began working at OFI as a NOVA skills trainer in April 2008.  She began coordinating services for the STEP program in January 2011.  A devoted wife and proud mother of three, Karishia has more than thirteen years of experience in the disability field.

Kevin Zink, Supported Living Services 

Kevin began working in the STEP program in 2006 and began coordinating the Supported Living program in January 2011.  A Marin County native, Kevin enjoys hiking, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures.  His interests include reading and discussion of history, philosophy, and psychology.


Kendra Vara, Accounting

Kendra joined OFI in 2007.  She began as the Development Associate and is now managing payroll for the agency.  Kendra has eight siblings, the youngest five of whom are adopted and have developmental disabilities, so she has been involved in the disability community all her life.  Kendra received a B.A. in Political Science from Georgia State University.   She currently lives in Texas with her husband and twin sons.
