OFI Gives Back

In 2010, OFI raised close to $4,000 to benefit the San Francisco AIDS Foundation by participating in AIDS Walk San Francisco. Staff members, program participants, and friends of OFI walked the 6.2 mile course through Golden Gate Park to raise awareness and provide support for this valuable cause.  Join Team OFI for the next annual AIDS Walk San Francisco!   

To many of us, a penny is virtually worthless, but in impoverished countries, a penny buys a pencil.  Pennies for Peace collects donations to support community-based education in Pakistan and Afghanistan. OFI has raised over $100 worth of pennies so far! To donate your pennies or to match OFI's donation, please contact us.

Each fall, OFI participates in the Marin Food Bank's Adopt-A-Barrel program, collecting much-needed food items to provide assistance for those in need.  By Thanksgiving, our first barrel is filled to capacity with donations made by staff members, friends of OFI, and program participants, some of whom use day program hours to go to the grocery store to select delicious and nutritious food to contribute.

OFI participants used their artistic talent to assist Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Bay in their fundraising efforts. Local artists transform bowling pins into works of art, which are then placed in an online auction, Pins of Marin.  The proceeds of the auction go toward Big Brothers Big Sisters' fundraiser, Bowl for Kids' Sake.
